The Mission: raise the profile of science & innovation in our national political dialogue through hosting a nationally televised presidential debate themed on science & technology policy.

Primary season progress toward the mission:

1. The American science & innovation community united like never before around the need for this initiative.

2. The democratic candidates sent surrogates to debate limited science topics at the AAAS meeting in Boston in February.

3. Our national Harris poll (with Research!America) showed 85% of Americans want the candidates to debate science.

4. The topic of science has gained steadily in national political press coverage and in candidate speeches and focus since this initiative began.

5. The campaigns are aware that this is an important topic.

6. Several conversations were had with members of the media about breaking the "science ceiling" in political coverage since many of the nation's major policy challenges now revolve around issues of science & technology.
